CLOTHING CLOSET
Through donations of gently used, seasonal clothing from individual donors, MayMay & Katie's Rescue Angels is able to provide assistance to those who lack clothing necessary for day to day living. We serve adults and children.
Clients call our office (727-482-8232) for an appointment to receive Clothing. Each client is assigned a 15 minute appointment at which he/she meets one-on-one with a volunteer.
PROJECTS

CASE MANAGEMENT is a collaborative process that assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates the options and services required to meet the client's health and human service needs. It is characterized by advocacy, communication, and resource management and promotes quality and cost-effective interventions and outcomes.
Philosophy of Case Management
Case management is an area of specialty practice within one's health and human services profession. Its underlying premise is that everyone benefits when clients(1) reach their optimum level of wellness, self-management, and functional capability: the clients being served; their support systems; the health care delivery systems; and the various payer sources.

FOOD PANTRY
As an organization, we value meeting the basic needs of the community because no one should have to wonder where their next meal is coming from. One of our projects the Food Pantry will serve the community year-round, providing a once-a-month emergency food basket to individuals and families in need, continuously, for as long as they need support.

SHELTER & TRANSITIONAL HOUSING
MayMay & Katies Rescue Angels core program helps homeless families, who will be referred by other shelters throughout Pinellas County, to move as quickly as possible into permanent, affordable housing (i.e, rapid re-housing). Employment services, benefits advocacy, financial assistance, proactive landlord outreach, and housing search services are intended to help families overcome income and credit barriers to housing stability and economic security. Once in housing, families participate in 6-12 months of in-home case management, including life skills and tenant education, to promote self-sufficiency.

Helping Children and Young Adults
Children and young people often don’t have the coping strategies or the language to get through a crisis situation successfully. Negative behaviors and acting out are often the only way for that person to try to express what they are feeling. The trained and compassionate counselors at MayMay & Katie's Rescue Angels of Saint Petersburg have the experience to work with the child to help them explore their feelings, put words to the feelings and then work through the problem in a more positive way.
Helping Families through Crisis
When a child is in crisis, the whole family unit is affected. The crisis maybe a reaction to the child’s behavior or the child’s reaction to what is happening in the family. No matter what the cause, the counselors at MayMay & Katie's Rescue Angels are trained to work with everyone involved to uncover the causes of the problems and then work with all involved to find solutions and healing.

VOLUNTEERS
Most volunteers considering volunteering in certain programs or committing to volunteer 20 hours or more will need to attend one of our volunteer orientations held the first Tuesday of the month except for November and December and when holidays fall on the first Tuesday. Volunteer orientations are held at MayMay & Katies' Rescue Angels , from 6 to 8:30 pm. The current volunteer opportunities with specific time requirements are presented at these orientations and the interview process is explained. Groups or volunteers working at a special event or one time opportunity are not required to attend an orientation.
Can I Bring A Group?
Yes. Volunteering at MayMay & Katies' Rescue Angels provides team-building opportunities. We welcome schools, service organizations, alumni groups, families, fraternities and sororities, religious organizations, military and corporate teams. The group leader must schedule the group's visit and will be the main contact for that group. The group leader must forward volunteer information to all members of the group before the visit.
